The rainy season had me yearning for a protective style and when I saw pictures of yarn braids on Instagram I couldn't wait to have them installed. A quick google search and I had the perfect idea of how long and thick I wanted them.

I got my Yarn braids done at Kenyatta market by a really nice Lady Kabele (+254 723033746) they do them in  all sorts of length and thickness its amazing. The yarn is sold at Kenyatta market which is very convenient and they are fairly affordable.
It took about an hour of pulling my hair and rolling yarn to finish installing.

The braids are very painful for the first few days and it was almost impossible to sleep, they were also very itchy although I always itch when I braid. I stopped the itch by spraying a mix of Rose water and coconut oil onto my scalp.

I washed my hair and sprayed some conditioner (let it sit for a while then wash off) on my scalp once a week and air dried them, I would recommend sitting in a dryer coz they took forever to dry. I literally had to set aside a day to wash my hair.
A daily sprits of coconut oil and rose water ensured my scalp wasn't dry and itchy.

Pictures were taken about 2 week after installation and I had the braids on for about 5 weeks,

My hair was really soft and had so much new growth and volume it was amazing.

I would definitely have them done again.
