FASHION HIGH TEA 2017

After looking around for a fascinator that would complement my dress I opted to just go for
a rather simple hairstyle but two days to the event I realized my braids wouldn’t cut it for the most anticipated fashion event In Kenya, I Ordered a new wig that was gladly delivered that same evening, I have never been happier. I only wish I had more time to tweak it into perfection (usually takes me a few more days) But I think I pulled it off. Contrary to my expectations in this post WHAT TO WEAR TO FASHION HIGH TEA most of the ladies opted to go for neither a fascinator nor a hat though a few were sported.

If you read my previous post you know this was my first time attending Fashion High tea and I genuinely think it was an amazing day. The stage was set in the lush Gardens of Zen where both local and international designers showcased couture most of which were available at the displays. We saw the likes of  Carole Kinoti, Kanguri, Koki Designs, Kshmr by Kuoni, Mia Kora, Pickay collections and kipato unbranded just to name a few.

The theme this year must have been going green, you could tell from the floral illustrations and decorations . The event had amazing media coverage with the likes of Style Yetu putting up posts even during the event. It is an amazing place for the fashion enthusiast to network as you had a good majority of the fashion high profiles in Kenya and designers at your disposal.

The foodies weren't left out either as there was an open bar and open buffet with an elaborate menu that featured a sushi bar, ice cream bar and desert and bugger stations which I may have frequented a little more than I care to admit. I hear there was a cheese corner but I don't recall waking past it at any one point.
I dot take alcohol but I could tell everyone else was enjoying the open wine, cocktail, bear and champagne bar while I sipped on my soda.

Here are some of the pictures we took, look out for posts from other blogs to see what everybody else wore.
What do you think of this gown I made?

  2. These photos turned out really nice! I'm glad your trip to the coast was enjoyable. In terms of this outfit, I absolutely love it. I totally know what you mean about experimenting with "cool girl" looks but I think you totally pull of this neckerchief. I also love the embroidery on that denim jacket!
